Students are therefore called upon to be major players in the ecological transition, and schools and establishments as exemplary places for environmental protection.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In high school, the new programs, which come into force at the start of the 2019 school year, make significant room for climate and environmental issues.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Understanding the relationships between environmental, economic, social and cultural issues should help students better perceive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>the interdependence of human societies<\/strong> and the Earth system<\/li>\n<li>the need <strong>to make informed and responsible choices<\/strong> and <strong>to adopt behaviors that take these balances into account<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>the importance of <strong>global solidarity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Measures were decided upon following a dialogue between the Minister of National Education and Youth and high school students. Several of them are being implemented from the start of the 2019 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Each school or establishment will have <strong>a sustainable project in favor of biodiversity<\/strong>(nesting boxes, vegetable gardens, tree planting, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>In September 2019, middle and high school students elected an <strong>eco-delegate per class.<\/strong> His mission :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>make their classmates aware of the daily actions that make it possible to fight against global warming<\/strong>(turning off the lights, sorting class waste);<\/li>\n<li><strong>identify projects<\/strong> that contribute to improving biodiversity, reduce the energy impact of the establishment, promote eco-responsible actions by the entire educational community, fight against waste and promote action in the area surrounding the establishment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All these projects must allow <strong>schools and establishments to be both actors and effective places of ecological transition<\/strong>. This is why they are invited to acquire the school \/ establishment label in a global sustainable development approach (E3D), already held by 4,500 of them.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><strong>The challenges of sustainable development are integrated into all diplomas<\/strong> in the technological and professional streams. The STI2D series of vocational schools is already the advanced point of this new ambition.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At least one of the three annual <acronym lang=\"fr\" title=\"Academic advice on high school life\">CAVL<\/acronym> and <acronym lang=\"fr\" title=\"National Council for High School Life\">CNVL<\/acronym> sessions is devoted to sustainable development. <strong>The elected high school students are fully committed to the implementation of this policy<\/strong>and participate in the evaluation of the projects developed by the eco-delegates in the establishments. Now, elected high school students are ex officio members of the academic steering committees for education for sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Academies play an essential role in the implementation of education for sustainable development by relying on teaching, inspection, management, supervisory and educational staff.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the start of the 2019 school year, <strong>a 2030 green school prize<\/strong>is launched to support the best projects carried out in schools, colleges and high schools.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the year 2019-2020, special attention will be paid to t<strong>he mobilization for the hosting of the World Congress of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the preparation of Cop 15 on biodiversity that will take place in October 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.education.gouv.fr\/cid144421\/une-ecole-engagee-pour-developpement-durable-transition-ecologique.html#Faire_des_eleves_les_acteurs_du_developpement_durable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Source www.education.gouv.fr<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National education is fully mobilized in the fight against climate change and in favor of biodiversity.
